Terms & Conditions.
Draft template — project terms should be agreed before accepting work or payment.
Services and scope
Each project should have a written proposal stating the deliverables, page count, functionality, exclusions, timeline and acceptance process. Work outside the agreed scope may require a separate quote.
Quotes and payment
State the quote validity period, deposit or milestone schedule, due dates, accepted payment methods, and how overdue invoices are handled. Do not start work until the agreed starting conditions are met.
Client responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate content, lawful images and materials, timely feedback and access to services they own or are authorised to manage.
Revisions and delays
Specify the number and type of revisions included. Delays in receiving content, feedback or approvals may affect the delivery date.
Domains and third-party services
Domain registrations, renewals, paid tools and third-party services may have separate charges and terms. Domain ownership should remain with the client unless otherwise clearly agreed.
Ownership and portfolio
State when rights to the finished work transfer, what happens to reusable code or third-party assets, and whether you may display the project in your portfolio. Obtain permission before publishing client work or identifying information.
Hosting, support and maintenance
Define the hosting setup, service limitations, backups, updates, support hours, response times, recurring charges and cancellation terms. Static hosting platforms may not support every feature.
Cancellation, liability and disputes
Set out fair cancellation and refund terms, appropriate liability provisions, complaints handling and governing law. These provisions must comply with applicable law and should be reviewed professionally.
Contact
Add the correct business contact details and the date these terms take effect.
